Cassandra van Altena

My name is Cassandra and I’m a fourth-year PhD student at Wageningen University. My research so far has focussed on food-web theory, more specifically on how interaction strengths or patterns in interaction strengths affect food-web stability. The data that I have used in my research come from both soil and lake systems.

In my free time, I’m an enthusiastic bird watcher and I would very much like to include a study on birds and food webs in my thesis as well. Therefore, I want to explore in this course what could be interesting research topics on the role of birds in (complex) food webs.
